In Vitro Fertilization is the most effective procedure of assisted reproductive technology (ART). It involves egg retrieval from a woman or donor’s ovaries and fertilization through your partner or donor sperm in vitro - “in glass.” The result is a fertilized zygote cultured for 2 to 6 days in a growth medium, then, implanted on a woman or surrogate’s uterus to create a successful pregnancy.
The gynaecologist performing the IVF procedure should be licensed as a medical practitioner and ob-gynecologist. They should be trained in all kinds of ART procedures, IVF techniques, Andrology and gynecologic endoscopy procedures.
An IVF Specialist should have at least 10 years of experience and should be accredited by the following organizations: International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS), the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction (ISAR), the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and the International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ISGE).
